I was born in Medellín, Colombia; the youngest of four. My childhood is a blur of folkloric dance performances, singing at community events, and hiking the mountains behind my family’s finca.
I came to America with my family when I was just six years old. I anthropomorphized my toys and gave them all complicated backstories. I designed clothes my mother then sewed on her machine. Creativity was my language. Communication was my goal. Collaboration was the key.
Today I live in Brooklyn, New York.
A Jack-of-all-trades, I’ve entertained active military and veterans with the USO Show Troupe, and performed Shakespeare. I’ve taught children and their families the importance of positive lifestyle choices in TYA productions all over North America, dedicated efforts to non-profit organizations and their missions, and appeared in commercials and TV/film. For fun? I sing to my plants, practice yoga, and bake delicious treats.
Everywhere I go, I carry with me the greatest lesson from my father:
“Mirando al frente, Cristina.”
Always looking ahead.
